| This paper aims to study the educational system in Arabic elementary schools between the past and the present systems, bearing in mind that these schools are the first solid Arabic foundations and bright concrete in which young children deal with reading the Holy Qur’an Kareem and memorizing of some Qur’anic Verses and some religious principles. These schools are still from being the first foundation for teaching the Arabic language and its Islamic culture, because without mastering the reading of the Holy Qur’an properly, it is not possible to master the Arabic language in writing, reading and communicating. Because, understanding of Noble Qur’an it’s a strong basis in understanding the Arabic language, both for its speakers and non-speakers. This study relies on the descriptive and analytical methods to enable it to trace, compare and contrast between the old system and the modern system in the Arabic elementary schools, by taking into account the characteristics of both of them, and this can be done by answering these following questions: 1- What are the Arabic elementary schools? 2- What is its role in inculcating the earliest Islamic culture in children? 3- What is the education system in Qur’anic schools in the past era? 4- What is the system of this education in the present age, and based on the above, the hubs of this research come as follows:
* What are the katateeb
The role of these katateeb in planting the seeds of Islamic culture
* The old school system, its virtues and iniquities
* The contemporary school system, its quality and inferiority
* Conclusion
